SWINDON'S JOINT STRATEGIC NEEDS ASSESSMENT (JSNA)

Providing high quality information on the health and wellbeing of the Swindon population

Joint Strategic Needs Assessment

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) provides an overview of the current and future health and wellbeing needs of people in Swindon. It collates evidence and intelligence from previous JSNA reports, the Public Health Outcomes Framework and a range of other local and national data sources. Key resources are highlighted in this summary document.

The report presents key facts, intelligence and challenges for a wide range of public health topics. These are organised under 5 thematic areas: People and the Community, Place, Starting Well, Living and Working Well, and Ageing Well. Many of the health-related topics included within are examined in greater detail in separate health needs assessments.

The updated JSNA predominantly reflects the publication of Census 2021 statistics and includes more up-to-date information for Swindon on demographics; active travel and transport; air quality; employment, skills and the economy; safeguarding children and young people; general health; disabilities; carers.
