Safeguarding

Safeguarding pictureMulti-agency partnerships in Swindon have safeguarding duties for children and adults at risk. Children are vulnerable by virtue of their age and adults supported by safeguarding arrangements are those who: have needs for care and support; is experiencing, or is at risk of, abuse or neglect; and as a result of those needs is unable to protect himself or herself against the abuse or neglect or the risk of it.

Swindon Borough Council provides information on its website about safeguarding adults. Further details about adults safeguarding is also available on the Local Safeguarding Adults Board webpage. Information about safeguarding children can be found on the Local Safeguarding Children Board website. Details of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) which is a team made up of officers from the Police and the Council who aim to protect vulnerable children and young people can also be found on the Council website.
